Biography
WONDRID is a queer composer, sound designer, technical sound designer, and video game designer of Latin-American descent. Their greatest passion is Video Game Audio and Development, where they combine their music, graphic art, design, and programming skills. Their artist name is born from a combination of the words ‘wonder,’ ‘hybrid,’ and ‘kindred.’
In their music, WONDRID creates blended soundscapes, each of them built upon the exploration and merging of natural, human musicality and cutting-edge audio technology. By marrying these distinct styles and musical approaches, WONDRID inspires a sense of awe and innocence in their audience. Their art encourages coexistence between not just electronic and acoustic music, but the world at large.
WONDRID’s career is built off curiosity, experimentation, and a general eagerness to explore different musical paths. It’s apparent in their musical projects- from arranging acapella scores for Boston University’s In Achord, to performing with the Pletenitsa Balkan Choir for Berklee’s 15th annual Middle-Eastern Festival, to featuring on Mordela Morana’s 2023 single “Nightfall”- that their exploratory nature knows no bounds.
Passionate about inclusivity, WONDRID is also a strong supporter of innovation in the accessibility and diversity of music, games, and education.
My Story
Music has always been my way of understanding the world. From an early age, it became an extension
of myself— my voice, my refuge, and a source of endless fulfillment.
Growing up in a lively Latin American family, music was a constant presence. If it wasn’t playing, other sounds lovingly filled the space it left behind. Music became an inseparable companion, and as my love for music grew, it spilled over into other art forms. The more my artistic horizons broadened, the more I became drawn to narratives, and the more that urge to tell a story drove my music. It was only natural that I would then find myself enchanted by the immersive soundscapes created by composers like Floex, Disasterpeace, Gareth Coker, and Austin Wintory.
With time, I began to see music as something beyond just a personal practice. More than just an art form, it had become a spiritual experience for me—one that connected me deeply with others. It was my way of reaching hearts, sharing stories, and creating something greater than myself.
As I further explored my artistic path, I became captivated by the video game industry. Games like Nier, Monument Valley 2, Little Nightmares 2, and Rain World drew me into their worlds with their thoughtful artistic visions, robust systems, and clever designs. Video games, to me, represent the perfect fusion of all my passions: music, art, design, programming, and writing. I treasure games as a powerful vehicle for storytelling and social connection, and I strive to contribute to this ever-evolving medium in any way I can.
My ambition is to push the boundaries of interactive media and storytelling. I am eager to bring my determination and passion to the industry, to create innovative work that inspires and connects
people in meaningful ways.
